Congress has come to the conclusion that there are serious and notorious overzealous, unfair, and harassing debt collectors in our society. As such they have developed laws that will limit and regulate how a debt collector can act.
The Fair Debt Collection Act was established by Congress in an attempt to curtail any bad faith debt collection efforts by creditors. This law strictly spells out what, when, and how a bill collector can seek their collection efforts. When a creditor steps over the line they can be held accountable to you and the court system.
In the days to come, we are tirelessly working on developing this portion of our website. Once this effort has been completed, I expect to have a site that is filled with resources, overviews of the law, and general information that a debtor needs to know.
If you feel that a creditor is overstepping the line right now, please call my law firm at 561.932.0900 in West Palm Beach or 772.403.2343 in Stuart, Florida. You have rights and should not allow another harassing phone call ruin another day in your life.
